Type 304 – Non-hardening austenitic stainless Steel. The most widely used of the stainless steel and heat resisting steels. Offers good corrosion resistance to many chemical corrodents as well as industrial atmospheres. Has a very good formability and can be readily welded by all common methods. 304 Prodec offers improved machinability.
Type 316 – Non-hardening austenitic stainless Steel. Better corrosion and pitting resistance as well as higher strength at elevated temperatures then Type 304. Used for pumps, valves, textile and chemical equipment, pulp and paper and marine applications. 316 Prodec offers improved machinability.
Type 430 – Non-hardening Ferritic (MAGNETIC) Is the most popular of the non-hardenable chromium stainless steels. It combines good corrosion and heat resistance with good mechanical properties. Oxidation resistance to 1500˚ F widely used in both industrial and consumer products.
#2B Finish – annealed, pickled and bright cold rolled
#4 Finish – standard polish (approximately 150/180 grit) brushed finish. Typical uses for countertops, range hoods, appliances.
#8 Finish – high polished “Mirror Finish” retaining a very highly reflective polish
